Hi David;
That would be neet to get a shirt with my niece and nefue's names on
them, for next Christmas.
I did work with the manager of, I think it was, Virizons For The Blind,
and I wrote up two or more coaster paterns and she made graphic, raised
line drawings to go with my paterns. This is a group that mainly sells
knitting books in braille.
I have someone who is interested in learning. I think I will make her
samples that she can follow. We can also e-mail eachother when she has
questions. I used to buy items made from plastic canvis. That is how I
got intreaged with the craft. I could feal the stitches. I met a
friend who did the same craft and she tought me a lot. I used to be
able to walk to her office, but that has long past, since she moved.
Over the holidays, I think I have found another person to learn from.
Any ideas on how we should handle the money. I am going to forward the
e-mail I sent to Joyce, to the group. Read it and then please respond.
Thanks.
Terry Powers

Dear Terri and All,
I don't believe that there is a charge for a Division table at the
Convention, selling or not. I might be wrong, but I have run other
Division tables and state tables and there was never a charge. You just
must make sure it is manned and used.
Verify it with the National office and Mrs. Jernigan.
Just set up the manning in shifts and everything will go fine.
If you are selling things that belong to other people, they should be
labeled and priced in print and Braille.
Someone needs to be responsible for the handling of any money or the
person that owns it needs to be there to sell it.
I would suggest that each person selling something pay something toward
the Division as a donation.
Besides this list serve, the division might think about selling some of
the products through it's own catalog to help support the Division
activities and promote Handicrafts among the Blind.
Members could write and sell some how to books in alternative formats
for the use of the Blind.
You could even have a newsletter with tips and how to's in it and ads
for the products the members make.
They could share source to obtain materials and things like that.
Everyone is busy, but if it is important enough. They will make the
time.
We have a new machine Embroidery business. We make teddy bears with a
T-shirt and put a name on the shirt for people who have new borns.
We can do hats, caps, head bands, visors, all manner of shirts, tank
tops, shorts, jeans, bags, beach towels, scarf's,gym towels, bath robes
you name it.
We have our own graphic artist who can design logos and make custom
designs.
Send us a picture or description of what you want and we can make it for
you. We are starting a clothing line based on now popular "tattoo" art
designs We have a software program that lets us scan a picture, drawing
or photograph and convert it into a embroidery pattern and our state of
the art machines will then sew it for you.
