[Nfb-krafters-korner] knitting: counting rows

Unfortunately, I neither have an abacus nor learned how to use one.  That
does sound like a great way to do it though.  Any body have any other
suggestions?

Also, I'll pass along a tip.  I learned about using a "lifeline" when
knitting.  Simply run a separate piece of thread through the row with a
tapestry needle.  Now if you drop a stitch, you will easily be able to
insert your needle along the thread row and then pull the stitches out above
it.

I know I will definitely be using this in my next project because I have
found it really difficult to isolate that dropped stitch when I can't see
it.  If this works well, I may even try knitting in the car again.  The
first time that was not a pretty picture.
