Just a comment...
 
I would suggest that you familiarize yourself with the terms used in  
knittting and crocheting and use those terms when ever you teach anyone.  I  have met 
someone that was taught by a relative how to crochet.  The name of  the 
stitches were not taught to her.  She could not understand reading  directions and 
when she tried to show/tell how to do the stitches it was very  hard to follow 
her.  example: loop over pull through, loop over pull  through now do that 2 
more times and do it 3 times in the one stitch.  and  then close it.  After a 
while I figured out this was:  4 triple  crochets in one stitch and chain.
 
This is only an example to give you some thoughts.
