Hi, Audrey. Nice to meet you. I live near Rochester, NH., and
would be thrilled to have people interested in chair caning
contact me for instruction. I love this dying art. I'm always
amazed with the finished product. To take a whole, and turn it
into something so beautiful, and functional!
The man who taught me also did preweave, which, unfortunately, I
don't know how to do. As I stated earlier, I'd also love to
learn rush seats.
Anyone interested in learning to recane chairs by hand can feel
free to use my E-mail address; it is
slosser at metrocast dot net
And, Audrey, if you're passing through, just send a quick email,
and we'll do lunch. I'm also interested in the weaving you
mentioned. Take care. TTYS.

>Hi Trish,
>   Welcome to the group.  My name is Audrey Wellner, and I live
in the Connecticut area and am a Costumer, craft instructor and
knitter/crocheter among other things.  I am sighted and recently
retired from a formal business career to return to my love of
crafting and creating with my hands.  I have had to put down my
artistic endeavours for many years, but recently have returned to
constructing professional theatrical costumes for private
individuals and am volunteering my time to teaching
knitting/crochetting, felting and other crafts to blind and low
vision people.  I find you are all such an eager and positive
group of people, it's a joy to be with you all.
>   I have taught several of you in the Connecticut area to learn
to do basic knitting and needle felting and you have repaid
me with your eagerness to learn and show me your talents, like
plastic canvas, weaving and etc.and I'm always interested in
learning from you.
>   I think what everyone would like to know is what state we are
located in and if we are willing to teach a craft (and this site
was started for crafters) or if we would like to be contacted
nearby people who would like to learn our craft--if so they
could email us off line.

>..  I am a Certified Trained Sewing Instructor, Professional
Costumer, beginning knitting/crochetting instructor and Children
Crafts Leader.  I love all types of Revival Arts and Crafts and
love learning Old World and Lost Needle Arts. Hope to be doing
some reading for NFB shortly and meeting more of you personally.
>   Trish, I can not really tell from your email whether you are
willing to teach or just do this as a craft you have learned for
yourself.  What part of NH are you in, as I travel up to Vermont
to visit friends from time to time and it would be nice to know
so people can learn from you.
