I've heard that some of these clays that you can use at home by
baking/cooking in your oven or microwave are dangerous to your health. I
think they have been found to be carcinogenic. I was thinking of using them
to make my own beads at one time, but when I heard this decided it was not
worth a serious health risk.

Now that you said that I read last night that there was a clay that you did
bake in your oven for one hour at 350 degrees I think it was that long. It
said you should have a thermometer to check the temp of the oven because
if
it was hotter it would smoke.
