Carolyn;
The Christmas placemats were red squares, 4 bars by 4 bars, with 2 bars
of Christmas green going across and up and down between the squares. I
use diaginal stitches. They look nicer and cover more teritory. They
are less likely to ever show the canvis.
These can be made in any color combination for any holiday. Remember,
these are for decoration, not for eating. The plastic would melt if you
ever put it in a washer. You could spot it with a damp cloth and let it
dry.
One thing nice about this kraft is that you can skip around. If you
have trouble with colors, you could put in all the red squares and then
put in the green stripes.
Let me know what you think.

Terry,
How awesome! Would really enjoy doing the Christmas placemats. Bet you
could do cell phone cozys too--which would be a lot like the slate
covers or glasses cases.
