They can be an actual broche type pin or a stick type thingy with a bead or
something on the top and bottom to help hold in place.
The shawls drape over your shoulders and this holds them in place from
sliding off. Some folks will criss cross the shawl over the sholder and use
the pin to bunch the shawl or [small shawl-scarf type/ pinned to the
shoulder.
I kinda thought I would like the stick type to put the 2 front edges
together in the front.
I am not sure, but I can not find them. I really was thinking someone could
get double pointed needles and glue wooden beads on the top for design and
figure out how to put one at the bottom of the needle that could be removed
and added to put on and off. Heck you can cut the double pointed needles in
half and get double the shawl pins out of a set of wooden double pointed
needles.
I don't have the time to weave the shawls and make pins, but they would
definitely be something to go along with the shawls at a show or when I
teach my classes.
