Do you have a Hobby Lobby store where you are?  I think I saw what you are
talking about though I'm not a hundred percent sure it was as long as you
describe.  I was actually looking for something else on that aisle so I
didn't look too closely.

The needle threader that I have that works so great for me is the
traditional needle threader but the one I had found has the metal disk that
is  about 1
1/2 to 2 inchees in diameter and the wire coming out of it extends out
almost
2 inches.  So you can actually put it through the needle, let go of  the
back
piece and take your fingers to the wire [without it falling out of the
needle] and use both hands to get the thread through the wire.  I make sure
the
thread is loose enough so when I pull the thread through the needle it does
not
pull on the wire too tight.  As I have broken the wire by pulling on  the
thread.
