I picked up a gift card for a Christmas gift as I play Secret Santa, and am
trying to knit an envelope for it.
The person whose name I got does a lot of crafts, so thought I would try it
out!

Hi everyone,
It has ben awful quiet here. Is there anyone out there?
I had to check in and let you know that I found some wire and will see what
I can do with it to make the needle threaders for my sewing machine. Go
figure, I went to the craft store looking for 30 mm wire give or take 2 mm
and they had the darn size in .010 or .020. So I had my daughter search
around for sewing machine needles in AC Moore's and then took it over to
where the wire was. Yep, I opened the package of needles and tested out to
see if I could get the wire in theeye of the needle. Good thing I did that
as I noticed the wire I had first was real limp. After searching and testing
I came home with a spool of wire that fit in the eye of the needle and was a
bit stiffer. All these wires had a plastic coating on it. Now I soon will be
off to my back room where the sewing machine is and check out if this will
work.
So what is everyone doing out there with their creative hands?
I started on one of those 10 hour adult sweaters. I do have the directions
if anyone is interested with my couple of changes in the directions. I don't
know about taking 10 hours to do it, but I did frog it a few times. I
finally got it to go along by sitting in front of the computer and
Listening" to the directions line by line and doing the knitting. I kept
figuring I remembered it and would go and sit to listen to TV and come out
with the wrong number of stitches. Once you finish the yoke part you pslide
off the sleeves and just straight knit the body until it is the right length
Then you go back and knit the sleeves. It is a cardigan, but my mind is
already going ahead to the next time I do this and change it into a pullover
I mixed 2 yarns together, too. I had some acrylic yarn maybe a worstered
weight and put a washable striped sock yarn held together. Others have made
comment that they liked it.
I have to finish my Grand daughter's long sleeve t shirt I am sewing, too.
Just have the ribbbing on the neck and sleeves to put on along with hemming
it on the machine. Last of all I have to fringe the shawl I wove on my
triangle loom.
I do like to have several projects going at one time so I don't get bored
just working on one.
How about you? What are you working on? Do you work on one thing at a time?
Joyce
