[Nfb-fundraising] Awards to Honor Michigan Senior Citizen Advocates

Hello,

Have we got any active NFB members working with seniors
in Michigan?  This one could be used for those who are
proactive with the Seniors division, or seniors losing
sight.  Two individuals will win, but the prize would
go to a 501(c)(3) organization.

Claude Pepper Awards to Honor Michigan Senior Citizen
Advocates

Deadline: July 1, 2007

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (
http://www.bcbsm.com/ ) and
 the Blue Care Network are accepting nominations for
the Claude
 Pepper Awards honoring senior citizen advocates.

The awards are presented to two individuals whose
professional or
 volunteer efforts have made significant contributions
to
 improving the lives of Michigan seniors, particularly
those whose
 access to health care services may be hindered by
physical,
 mental, financial, or geographical limitations.

One award will be presented to a senior age 55 or older
who is
 retired. The other will be presented to a person (of
any age) who
 is employed in the senior advocacy field. The two
winners will
 each receive a $1,000 donation for their respective
nonprofit
 organizations. Runners-up will receive certificates of
merit.
 Only nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible
for Claude
 Pepper Award donations.
