[Nfb-fundraising] So What's Your Chapter Working On These Days?

Hi Kevan, and all,
Whozit Loves Coffee? Now that I like. I love hearing
of new ideas and new ways to get the same old needs
fulfilled. Great work! Thanks for sharing that.
So, do you have any sort of list of subjects to talk
about? Like one week would you talk about this, and
the next time talk about that, so people might schedule
certain ones on their calendars? Or is it just a
free-for-all get-together each time? Do you actually
talk about subjects that need addressing in your
community? Or is it just a social thing where
hopefully you get to encourage and educate whoever
comes? Either way, it’s a great idea. I hope more
chapters (including mine!) take inspiration from this.
I think it's got great and easy potential with larger
chapters, where you might not have to struggle with
members to show up every time as much as I'm wondering
if you might with a small chapter. But even small
chapters like ours could do it if we just got serious
about it and scheduled it like we do with meetings
once-a-month. Again, thanks!
To Your Success!

In Colorado Springs, our chapter President,
George McDermith, has arranged Whozit Loves Coffee,
working with a local
downtown coffee shop. We encourage our friends from
throughout the blind
community both in and out of the federation and other
family members and
friends to join us for discussion and coffee. 20% of
gross sales from
Whozit Loves Coffee goes to the local chapter. We
intend to split that with
the Imagination Fund.
...it is
important to develop local fundraisers with a
percentage going to the
Imagination Fund. The annual Imagination Fund is
strong this year and
although the focus has been on our first ever March
for Independence, the
fund encompasses a number of our activities to raise
contributions to the
cause.
