My, how broad these guidelines seem, below.  The
Students' organization, at least, could be a prime
candidate for funding for one of their programs, with
this grant opportunity.  Or so it seems to me.

Washington Area Women's Foundation Announces Rainmakers
Giving Circle Request for Proposals

Deadline: May 2, 2007

The Washington Area Women's Foundation
 ( http://thewomensfoundation.org/ ) has issued a
Request for
 Proposals for the Rainmakers Giving Circle 2007.
Rainmakers
 is a collaborative giving circle of twenty women with
a keen
 interest in supporting social change.

The giving circle will award a total of $40,000 in
grants this
 year to support programs for young women (between the
ages of
 10 and 18) that encourage their healthy development
and preven-
 tion of risk factors; focus on programs that empower
and
 increase competence among young women in the areas of
employment,
 life skills, education, and health; and contribute to
programs
 where a grant will make a significant impact in the
continuation,
 expansion, or enhancement of the program.

An organization is eligible for consideration of a
Rainmakers
 Giving Circle grant if it is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3)
organization
 in operation for at least one year and its program
provides ser-
 vices to and works with and/or impacts young women in
Washington,
 D.C., and/or Prince George's County.
