Judy, the easiest fundraiser for a small group is a drawing. Get prizes
donated or make them. Sell tickets. Members have to do this, but friends
can help. Then have the drawing at a party or meeting.
The next easiest thing for a small group that I know of is to collect a
basketful of prizes, such as a Christmas basket or Valentines basket, etc.
Have members make things and get some things donated. It is still a
drawing, but a rather exciting one, and you may be able to interest another
group in halping.
The size of the group doesn't always make as much difference as you would
think. As you know, often a few people do most of the work in most
organizations. Once you have a treasury and can do some neat things, it
might be easier to attract some new members.
I have a list of fundraising ideas I can send or email you. Just send me
contact info.

Subject: [Nfb-fundraising] New to the list.
Hi,
My name is Judy Jones, and I am president of a very small local chapter in
Tacoma, WA. There are very few of us in our chapter, although the core
group is dedicated. We live far apart, transportation isn't that
great--could be better, could be worse--and with the exception of three of
us, most have serious medical problems to contend with. I've been looking
for a fund-raiser where you can sell a punch card, for instance, pay for
eleven items, get the twelfth free. Krispy Kreme has a card like that, and
I know Starbucks does, too. It also seems like phone cards might also be a
great thing to sell, but these are just my ideas.
Can anyone elaborate on fund-raisers that might be worth us considering? If
you have resources and sites to send me to, all the better.
Thanks so much for your help.
Judy Jones
