[nagdu] Groomers?

Hey!
Am going to take Jenn to the groomer in the next couple weeks, but she has never been to one.  I am looking for any tips/advice/things to look for.
There's a groomer within walking distance of work, so I thought I would take her down there on my lunch break and come back and get her after work.  they advertise a "stay and play" (doggie gets pampered and then plays with other doggies); is this a good/bad idea?
I feel in way over my head!
