Dear Tracy,
I wish you well after your surgery.  I had a double mastectomy 11 
years ago and I am doing well.  My Golden Escort was with me during 
my hospital stay and guided me around the corridors.  He seemed to 
sense that my IV pole and I had to move very slowly.  Escort was not 
a puller, so we were able to take walks immediately after surgery 
when I returned home.  He accompanied me to the six months of 
chemotherapy treatment.  Your doctor will probably have no idea of 
how your dog works or his level of pull on your arm.  Only you can 
determine if it is uncomfortable to walk with Ben.
