Hello Everyone,
My name is Ashley. I have been blind since birth due to retinopathy of prematurity. I am currently getting my Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. My concentration is teaching adults. I'm wondering if there is anyone on this list who is already in the ESOL field that works with adults? Do you find that you also have to do another job on the side? After finding out that it's very hard to find a full-time job with teaching ESL to adults, I'm wondering if maybe I should change tracks, and go for pre-K-12? I know that there are way more opportunities for a full-time position in the school districts.
Thanks for reading and sorry for the rambling. I am new to education. My undergrad was just a simple B.A. in Spanish, so I'm starting from the ground up. I've volunteered teaching ESL, but felt like I didn't know how to be an effective teacher, and so decided to go for a M.A.
