Hi John,

Yes, this is very similar.
Jeff Brasie, President of the company, is open to give anyone with
management and supervisory skills a chance to move up in the company. I
believe in September they have just started a training program that allow
blind people to do just that.
Right now, in the job I'm in, it pays at $9.00 per hour on a 40 hour work
week.
In fact, when I and several other proofreaders were working overtime, he
treated all of us by having lunch sandwiches with cookies and chips.
Normally our supervisor purchases all of us a burger and if we wanted fries
to go with them, we usually give her a dollar for that.
Someone thought that we were getting pizzas; however, it was a big surprise.

Lisa,
It is good to hear you love your job, but is the Clovernook Center For The
Blind And Visually Impaired anything like Industries for the Blind? What I
mean by this is no totally blind managers, no totally blind supervisors,
virtually no chance for promotion or advancement, and relatively low wages
compared to mainstream companies? I mean no disrespect to you, your job, or
the company you work for. I am grateful for the job I have at Industries,
because without it, I would not be able to pay my bills just on disability
checks alone. I am just looking for a chance to work at a job that matches
my education and experience with reasonable compensation.

Regards,
JD
