POSITION: Director of Regional Account Managers                                              Date: June 29, 2007
 
DEPARTMENT:  Programs and Services - Sales
 
PURPOSE OF POSITION:                Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities within RFB&D territories. Staffs and directs a sales team, providing leadership and direction to enable Unit territories and Headquarters to achieve maximum placement of RFB&D memberships and programs. Establishes and implements sales strategies to expand membership and usage. Contributes to the development of sales training and educational programs for individual units.  Acts as coach and mentor for National Account Executives. Acts as a liaison between units and headquarters locations.    
 
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-                    Responsible for achievement of all Regional Headquarters and Unit territory membership goals. 
-                    Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that facilitates the successful attainment of membership objectives.
-                    Initiates and coordinates the development of action plans to penetrate new markets and maximize new opportunities.
-                    Responsible for the performance and development of Regional Account Executives.
-                    Conducts reviews of Regional Account Executive activities and plans.
-                    Implements a consultative approach to sales and program placement to insure acceptance, utilization and retention.
-                    Conducts regular coaching and development sessions to motivate and develop consultative selling skills.
-                    Reviews and coordinates proposal presentations and RFP responses 
-                    Utilizes internal CRM and tracking databases to review Account Executive performance and activities.
-                     Provides regular feedback to senior management.
-                    Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
-                    Acts as a liaison between individual Regional Account Executives, Units and Headquarters to insure the timely gathering and exchange of information and market intelligence.
-                    Leverages best practices within Unit and Headquarter territories.
-                    Demonstrates the ability to interact and cooperate with contacts, individual Units, and all company employees.
-                    Adheres to all policies, procedures and business ethics codes.    
 
SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
                Bachelor degree or equivalent.
Minimum 3-5 years experience in sales management; experience with educational sales a plus.
                Experience with account management & needs-based consultative selling techniques
Strong teambuilding, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
Excellent presentation, oral & written communication skills. Ability to influence and persuade others who do not report directly. 
                PC literate with experience in Word and Power Point (presentations).
                Proven track record achieving objectives.  
Self starter with demonstrated effectiveness in a multi-tasking & collaborative environment. 
May require travel (local and out of state) approximately 50-75% of the time.
