Hi Jen, Avid violinist/violist/pianist here who has played a lot in chamber
ensembles and orchestras. Finding braille music really depends on the
piece. Chamber music groups come in a variety of different shapes and sizes
if you know what I mean, so it's a matter of finding a way to get stuff
transcribed readily. I wouldn't say preparing for a chamber music rehearsal
differs too much from sighted individuals. My advice is to learn your part
in advance, listen to recordings on YouTube and perhaps even play your part
along with them so you have a good sense of how your part fits with the
others, and during rehearsals, pick up as much as you can from listening.
Hope this helps.
