Hello,
Just so you know, it is very easy and quick to upload your music to iTunes. You have to fill out an application form to become an iTunes content provider (as an independent label or artist etc). You can apply at https://itunesconnect.apple.com/WebObjects/iTunesConnect.woa/wa/apply and just wait for a few days until your application is accepted. Basically as long as the content you want to distribute is approved (if it's music you really won't have any trouble at all) you should be able to sell songs on iTunes in less than a week. Every month you will get a report from Apple which states how many songs you sold, how much you are going to get paid etc. You can decide on a price for your content, and I'm pretty sure you take 70% and Apple takes 30%, although this might not be exact.
Apple also offers several marketing products that you can use to expose your content to people.
