[musictlk] Question for Performing Vocalists

Hi Miranda,
No! We didn't travel much for gigs but, when we did, I went with other
band members who drove. I was the only blind person in any of the
bands I've ever been in.
I do know of other musicians who do travel to gigs and they use a
combination of transportation options. It depends on factors such as
distance and whether other band members are sighted and are driving or
not. For gigs that are only two or three states away the guys I know
fly if they can get a cheap ticket, or they often take the Greyhound
bus. For local gigs they use paratransit or getting friends to drive
them, or sometimes they'll take a taxi. It depends on lots of factors.
Regards,
Heather Field

Hi,
Have you ever traveled when doing independent gigs, and how did you go
about dealing with transportation.
I know we use public transportation quite a bit for our performances.
Thanks, and have a great day!

Do you have any specific questions about travelling? I don't have any
horror stories or anything or even an anecdote off the top of my head.
I
could just start rambling on about this or that aspect, but I thought
I'd
see if you had any specific thing about which you were wondering.
I've
been everywhere from the state next door to China, mostly with large
groups.
