Hello Marion -

Don't get me wrong.  I am not talking down about a Martin!  And even tho all the necks have trouble, particularly any of the 12 strings in my experience,  it also depends on the case, how much and where you travel with severe weather changes.  And you're right about the Martin silk/Steel strings.  They do have a sweetness to them that many strings don't.  I was recommending the John Pierce Strings more for something like a Tak or a Taylor that already have an extra bright sound to them.

Someone like yourself would have a better knowledge about the acoustics.
I've been playing for 34 years but I am primarily a bass player.  So I'm sorry for not knowing what I'm talking about.
