[musictlk] Looking for feedback on these acoustic electrics

Hi. It's the lv03 standard, not the rosewood model. Oh it's a fine guitar,
but I want a darker sound. It's a parlor size, not a jumbo or drednaught.
It was made in Quebec. The higher end Larrivees are made in the states.
I've played some of them and they are very nice.

Cameron.

Cameron,
Why are you selling your Larrivee? I've been drooling over the D-60 for
about three years now and am close to getting one soon. I would like to know

about your experience with it.
I play a 1990 Martin D-35. It is my stage instrument. It's pretty beat
up after seventeen years of work, but sounds better than ever! Except, that
is, for an annoying harmonic I can hear every once in awhile on the "G"
string. The Florida humidity has caused my binding to give way, but nothing
a little Elmer's wood glue couldn't repair. I replaced the nut and bridge
with Tusque and would not recommend it. I've already replaced the nut with
bone and will do the same with the bridge soon. It's time for a re-fret and
I am considering using larger fret wire than what Martin uses as standard,
but not quite as large as jumbo.
I've checked out a few cut-aways and have not liked the lack of
resonance and poor timbre of the highs from the loss of that portion of the
body. I agree with you about the Taylor necks. To me they seemed like I was
playing a baseball bat.
In any case, keep us apprised of your decision and let me know about
your Larrivee experience. I just can't imagine that it was one of his high
end instruments that you would be considering dropping.

Fraternally,
Marion
