Hi, everyone.

I'm anxious to learn about all these processes. Bill, it seemed to me that
Dancing Dots was not at the NFB convention. Maybe it's hard to get to all
these conferences, so you have to select one or the other. What I'd like to
find out from you, and also from the list, is what I should do to make
studying piano work out well--I mean, besides practicing consistently. I
found a few opportunities to resume piano lessons and haven't taken any
lessons since I was in college in the early 90s. I'm excited to try this
again but want to do it differently than before. I relied on my ears and a
little Braille music when I formerly took lessons, but now I'm more
interested in getting better at the Braille music. My teacher is likely to
be working from print music. I haven't really followed what new Braille
music technology can do as well as I probably should have. I know there's
quite a lot on WebBraille, but much more music beyond that out in the wide
world to be converted from print to Braille or audio. I know that at the
very least, I could bring a little digital recorder to the lesson and record
it and try to Braille it out or something. So what are the most efficient
ways for me to work with the teacher? I'll take any suggestions and
experiences. Thanks a lot.

I will represent Dancing Dots at the QAC (Queen Alexandra College) Sight
Village exhibition of products for the blind from July 17 through the 19TH
in Birmingham, United Kingdom.  So if you are interested to convert printed
music into audio playback or standard braille music notation, independently
create a multi-track audio production or express your creative musical ideas
in staff notation for sighted people, come to see us at QAC Sight Village.
I will be happy to discuss your particular interests and needs.  In addition
to meeting blind musicians, I am also interested to meet music educators and
teachers of the blind too.  We at Dancing Dots can brainstorm with you about
ways to include blind students in your music classes and ensembles.
