Well, the only way you could possibly learn is separate hands when learning braille. I used to go with a measure at a time, but sometimes I did phrases. Scanners correct orientation when you put the page on it. So it wouldn't matter if it was upside down. I would assume scanning music works that way. I never was able to get quite that far with it.
