Good evening everyone,

Wanting to find new sources of background music to play while working on
my Web and other projects I took to searching for Podcasts of classical
music and came across a few interesting Web Sites including KMFA in Austin
Texas. They have a number of their classical programs archived on their Web
Site located at:
http://www.kmfa.org

The direct URL to KMFA's Program Archive page is:
http://www.kmfa.org/listen_archive.htm
While writing this I'm downloading another episode of their Early Music
Program, Ancient Voices. They also have programs devoted to organ music,
film scores, Austin Symphony Orchestra, and various UT Austin classical
ensemble and orchestral performances and a number of other offerings for
your listening and downloading pleasure. The site is very screen
reader-friendly and easy to navigate. While not true podcasts these
downloadable .MP3 recordings are great to listen to. I can't wait to see
what kind of holiday music they feature. Now if our classical station here
in San Antonio, KPAC, would offer program archives one can download that
would be great! I like KPAC's answer to Ancient Voices, KMFA's Early Music
Program. The KPAC Program is called Musica Antiqua. I used to record Musica
Antiqua faithfully until our cassette deck began failing. Guess I need to
poke around on their Web site a little more to see if any of their programs
are offered as podcasts or downloadable archives. If any of you know of
other classical stations offering podcasts or downloadable program archives
please send the URLS along. Take care, and enjoy.
