[Mt-blind] Time Card

I have no ideas to share on making the time card accessible by blind people,
but I would like to comment on how there are so many devices made these days
that cannot be operated with non-visual techniques. The frustrating thing
about this is that we can take nothing for granted these days. Blind and
visually impaired people can hardly run simple devices like clothes washers,
dishwashers, hand-held appliances, etc. And the problem lies in the design
of the devices since non-visual technology is readily achievable. I hate to
say it, but things seem to be getting worse rather than better on issues
like the time card.

Is sighted help the only option? That puts you at the mercy of someone who
may or may not punch your card when you want it punched. What if there
isn't one around? How do you verify what they did or didn't do, and correct
it if necessary? Your paycheck, attendance, and tardiness -- indeed, your
very job -- may depend on it.
Where I work everyone does time punches by computer, but not every blind
person has that luxury.
