Now that is grate.
they have something to look forward to next year.
When the lions club had their camp, I loved it.
Also looked forward to going.
I think they still have a camp in Colorado, the last I heard.
I am sure lots of confidence was given to the young adults threw out the
week, and you could see them grow.
Is there a way a letter can be written from their behalf on the fun they
had?
I would love to read some?

>>>Greetings,
>>>
>>>Camp Eureka finished up last Friday, and it was better than ever! Twelve
>>>blind kids were in attendance this year at the University of Montana's
>>>Biological Research Station on Yellow Bay at Flathead Lake. Camp ran
>>>from
>>>last Monday through Friday afternoon and included science experiences
>>>ranging from the lake's ecology, mammals and birds, plant life on the bio
>>>station and how to tactilely identify them, , a presentation on owls and
>>>their habits and calls, and a trip to Wild Horse Island and an exercise
>>>in
>>>radio-collar tracking used for Bighorn Sheep. Also, we had twice-daily
>>>weather reports -- the kids measured temps, wind, humidity and
>>>calculated
>>>dew point.
>>>
>>>Whew! There was also lots of fun, including swimming, canoeing and a try
>>>in
>>>the batter's box in a game called string-ball.
>>>
>>>There wasn't much sleep for us adults, but it was a great time for us as
>>>well, despite the smoke. Oh, and couple of us did get swimmer's itch,
>>>but
>>>it was worth it! (smile)
>>>
>>>Congratulations to Beth Underwood for all her hard work in getting the
>>>camp
>>>organized! It was a huge success -- the kids had a great time, and they
>>>learned a lot about science and the outdoors and about blindness. One
>>>lesson the kids got was how to carry their lunch trays by themselves.
>>>This
>>>particularly delighted them and they all were happy to take their stuff
>>>back
>>>to the tubs to dump their dishes after eating, too!
>>>
>>>And thanks to all those who contributed time and resources to making this
>>>happen!
