[Mt-blind] Voting

Darn!
I wish I would have been reading these emails from you all about voting.
At our poll place I did not think to ask, but neither did anyone seem to
know about or offer any alternate equimpment for voting. I still voted for
all the right people, though, I think. <g>

Say, Lisa Hall, a fellow grad from Louisiana Center is on another list and
she just took a job in Cincinnati . Her email put her new web site. I
thought maybe some of you might like to have a look at it. Lots of links
and good information there.
Here is the link:

Hope you are all well and enjoying the summer so far.
We are enjoying a big old houseful of family from both coasts.
Lots of dishes, lots of grins, lots of good stuff. Hope your primary
candidates win. At least if they agree with mine! <g>

Best,
Rik

I just finished voting in private with the new voting technology. The last
time I voted privately was thirty years ago. A Missoulian reporter and a
photographer followed me through the process, which was very simple and easy

to use. One thing to remember is that this new form of voting came about
due to the advocacy of the National Federation of the Blind and the Montana
Association for the blind. We put our oars in the water and held our
country to standards that include the blind and others with print
disabilities in first class citizenship. It is very much not a charity
thing, but rather an act of a free people who know what we want and how to
get there. It is a major landmark in the lives of blind Montanans!
