Hello students,
My office has recently released applications for the 2008 GYSD Minnie Grant
program. I would highly encourage student divisions to apply, but note that
the biggest caveat to your application is that the project you propose must
take place in some form or fashion during the weekend of April 25-27, 2008,
in celebration of Global Youth Service Day. The program is competitive: 1)
because the program is international; 2) because we receive well over a
thousand applications; and 3) because we receive many thought-provoking
community projects. While these might be seen as reasons not to apply, I
also know that many state student divisions would put forth excellent
proposals if enough effort was exercised. If you decide not to apply, I
would still consider it a tremendous favor if you visited the link below and
then pulled up the form because I took the lead on designing the online
application. I would like to know what you thought worked well and what
could be more accessible so that I can implement these into future programs.
Thanks for your help, and I hope to see Arizona ABS among several other
applications for my office to review. If you have any questions about the
review process, please feel free to contact me off-list.
