Dear Future DC Interns:

It's no surprise many students come to DC to intern over the summer
season. If you've never been to the capital, or if you've never ventured
out sufficiently during Washington Seminar, the place can appear
intimidating. For me, the largest intimidation factor was the subway
system, but like the District, I have made it my own. And I could not have
done it without the patient orientation tips of friends inside and outside
of the Federation. If you're coming to join us in the next few weeks,
remember about your DC affiliate. We are on the verge of reinvigorating our
membership, and we would love to have you join us for chapter meetings,
informal orientation lessons or just the opportunity to shoot the breeze.
In short, do not forget you have NFB family in and around the District to
try to help make your work experience a pleasant one. You can e-mail me
off-list, or contact our president, Don Galloway, at:

donald.galloway at dc.gov

    Looking forward to meeting you.

          Joe Orozco
