Listen Up!
Issue #4, October 2006
Welcome to Listen Up!, RFB&D's Bimonthly Electronic Newsletter for Members
In this fourth edition of Listen Up!, we celebrate the recording of RFB&D's 30,000th digital title. This milestone in RFB&D® history helps us move closer to an all-digital service by next summer. Stay tuned for ongoing information.
Applications for RFB&D's 2007 National Achievement Awards (NAAs) are available now - find out how you can apply. Also, learn about RFB&D's back-to-school promotions and how to order the titles you need right away for the new school year. This issue features tips for teachers on how to incorporate RFB&D into the classroom. For parents, we provide definitions of disability terms and advice on how to navigate the complicated educational disability system. Our feature story describes how RFB&D adheres to our own strict accessibility guidelines when serving our members with print disabilities.
A special thank you to Joshua Solomon, the son of an RFB&D member, for introducing us to the amazing life story of Dr. Dennis Shulman, who joined RFB&D more than 40 years ago. You can read all about Dr. Shulman in this edition. Additional thanks to all of the RFB&D members and educators who have sent us feedback and story ideas. Keep them coming!
