[Mabs] email regarding Federal ruling

Hi Todd. I certainly see your point and have no reason to disagree with it.
I do suggest that there is only so much we can get from society before that
society says "Enough! Your problem is your problem, and you want more than
we are willing to give."

So if I can only ask for so much, I better ask for the most important stuff
I really need - training, technology both blindness technology and trying to
ensure technology for the sighted is not beyond my use.

I think I can count on one hand the times I've been ripped off. My technique
is simple - when I have big bills, I cash them either with someone I know
and trust, or I use them to come close to the purchase price of an item. I
would avoid, in a strange place, giving someone a $20 bill for a $6
purchase. If, however, I was purchasing something that cost $17, I would
gladly give the $20 knowing that there was no way, either through deliberate
manipulation or confusion, that I could be ripped off. Admittedly all of
this takes a bit of planning, but after a while it becomes second nature.

Again, I have no wish to disagree with you, but I think there are legitimate
reasons to suggest that identifiable money is not the greatest priority
which our organization should address. I certainly don't question the right
of other organizations to address it, and if it comes to pass I'm sure I'll
take advantage of it. For my money and time, however, there are more
significant issues which are a real threat to us.

Warmest regards,

Gary
