Subject: Nick Schmittroth

I wanted to let everyone know that my husband Nick Schmittroth passed away earlier today. He had been battling stage IV metastatic Melanoma for eight months.
He died peacefully in his sleep this morning. I hope that he is at peace and, as hard as it is to lose your soul mate, I am glad that he is no longer suffering
from the ravages of this cancer and the incredible pain it caused him. He has made an impact on so many people through his efforts to teach blind adults
how to travel confidently. He has liberated many people, encouraging them  to take back their lives, wonderful, fulfilling successful lives they thought
they could never achieve as blind individuals. He is my best friend and will be missed by many. He cannot begin to fathom how many lives he has changed
for the better.  
A funeral has been planned for Thursday October 12 at 1:00 PM at the First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake City. The church is located at 569 South 1300 East
in Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 11:30 to 1:00 PM. A memorial fund is being set up for Nick and we would ask that donations
be made to this fund in lieu of sending flowers. If you would like to contact me, please email or call me at (801) 953-4340.
