Our local paper offered me $5 to cover meetings.   The meetings were two 
hours, and the write up would take at least half an hour, so I simply walked out 
after this insulting offer, and haven't sent them anything of note since.   
Later I wondered if they just wanted me to stop writing for them and decided to 
insult me so I would.   I consider it their loss.
