Ben: a few thoughts. Yes, you should research world times but research is
done in many ways. Asking someone who knows is still research. Canberra,
where I live, is on summer time until late March. This puts it 18 hours
ahead of Pacific time in the US and Canada. I guess that is 15 hours ahead
of where you live.
I began as a journalist when recording interviews was generally frowned upon
by journalists and some interviewees. I wrote on a typewriter, so could not
proof my copy and often had to begin again when interrupted by telephone
calls.
But a late friend, Graeme Edwards, was a journalist on the Melbourne Herald
10 or more years before I began. He died in 1983 and I still use his Perkins
Braille writer, but only for writing file cards.
>From the US, after your international code, is it 001 or 011? my telephone
numbers are:
Home 61-2-6161-1901
Work 61-2-6280-2206.
I only recently began using Skype. It is an excellent method of
communicating inexpensively.
Best wishes
Graham Downie
