			Well, Annemarie ...

My photo editor wanted me to take pictures of my vacation for a piece
titled something like " A blind woman's (distorted) view of Taiwan."
But you have to understand -- I, as a congenitally blind person,
never ever used a camera in my life. I had to remember about
advancing the film every time I took a picture - that was hard. And I
had received no training about how to coordinate my hand movements
using the camera with the resulting image. (When you don't see at
all, it's all about physics and fulcrums, in my opinion.)

Anyway, my friend, who is an American and who was working in Taiwan
for a summer, thought what we were doing was disparaging and
distasteful. So she was always telling me, like, "don't do that," and
then she kept on saying that my picture wouldn't have anything in it
because of the way I positioned my camera. So, I gave up.

One other reason I gave up was that I wanted to just do sightseeing
and not have to worry about the photos, since I wasn't getting any
help from anybody, anyway.

At any rate, that's the whole sordid story! Guess I'd better change
my (clear the tthroat) focus.

Cheryl
