Hey folks,

Story Corps does some amazing radio journalism 
and has recently posted an entry-level position 
in their Brooklyn, New York office.  It may be a 
good fit for one of us.  Here's the 
description.  Note that the application deadline is this Friday, September 21.

Description:
Operations Coordinator
Operations Department
Reports to: Assistant Director of Operations
StoryCorps is looking for a full-time Operations 
Coordinator to work in their offices
in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. StoryCorps 
(www.storycorps.net) is a widely acclaimed national
oral-history project that celebrates our shared 
humanity and collective identity.
Created by the award-winning non-profit 
documentary company Sound Portraits Productions
(www.soundportraits.org), StoryCorps is the 
largest oral-history project ever undertaken.
Responsibilities include:
OFFICE RECEPTION & MANAGEMENT
• Greet/welcome visitors and staff to StoryCorps offices.
• Provide information to, and answer questions 
from, callers inquiring about StoryCorps.
• Manage and maintain organization’s phone system.
• Maintain office equipment and machinery.
• Maintain and organize common areas of office 
(kitchen, conference rooms, etc).
• Serve as primary liaison to building in 
relation to repairs, booking conference
space, obtaining new identification cards for staff, etc.
• Order general office supplies weekly.
• Oversee onsite vendors, technicians, and repairs.
• Manage mailing/postage system, distribute mail to StoryCorps staff.
• Oversee daily garbage and recycling removal system.
FINANCE
• Work directly with vendors on accounts payable issues.
• Reconcile and code expenses; and prepare bills for payment.
• Provide bookkeeping support to Controller.
• Maintain inventories.
• Process credit card transactions.
• Weekly deposits to bank.
IT/FACILITIES SUPPORT
• Support to StoryBooths (both in New York City and outside).
• Support to IT Manager.
• Trouble-shoot computer, printer, and other office equipment problems.
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, 
this position provides general
administrative support to the Operations Department, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum two years experience working in office 
management/administration in an
organization of comparable size.
• Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office required.
• Must be comfortable providing IT support.
• Excellent communication skills – verbally and in writing.
• Strong organizational skills, problem-solving 
ability, and attention to detail.
• Flexibility and the ability to work as part of a fast-growing team.
• Bookkeeping experience a plus.
