Hello fellow NFB Journalists,
Below is a press release which is being 
circulated throughout the NFB by the Performing 
Arts Division. You'll notice that one of my songs 
was chosen. There are also joint fund-raising 
opportunities for other nonprofits both within 
and outside of the NFB, who would like to earn $4 
from every $12 sale, with no costs. It's a lot 
easier and less messy than hoagies. Donna

First-ever Compilation CD of Blind Musicians Released
by the National Federation of the Blind Performing Arts Division

New York, New York (October 9, 2007): The 
Performing Arts Division of the National 
Federation of the Blind is proud to announce the 
release of their first-ever compilation CD entitled Sound In Sight – Volume 1.

Eighteen songs performed by blind artists were 
selected through an open submission process and 
carefully reviewed by the Division’s Board of 
Directors.  Highlights of the genre-spanning 
collection include Nashville-based songwriter JP 
Williams’ “Tongue Tied”, Brooklyn folk-pop 
stylist Brooke Fox’s “Cinematic”,Pennsylvania 
folk rock songwriter Donna Hill’s The Edge of the 
Line”  and hip-hop duo Got Kemistry’s “Let Me See You Move.”

“This album is full of talent from across the 
nation. With great vocals combined with a wide 
variety of music, there is something for 
everyone!” said Dennis Holston, president of the Performing Arts Division.

The album was unveiled at the Division’s General 
Membership Meeting as part of the National 
Federation of the Blind (NFB) national convention 
held June 30 to July 6, in Atlanta, Georgia.  The 
compilation is now available for purchase (visit

for more information) and the plans for digital 
download will be announced shortly.

Active since 2000, the Performing Arts Division 
of the NFB brings together blind and visually 
impaired people who have a common and 
professional interest in the entertainment field. 
The Performing Arts Division (PAD) serves as a 
promotional and networking resource to help its 
members achieve their artistic and professional 
goals by sponsoring performance and project 
opportunities while raising media awareness for 
talented blind entertainers of all genres.

The funds raised from the CD purchases will serve 
to benefit further programs of the Performing 
Arts Division of the NFB.  To purchase the CD or
