[Journalists] journalists?

			Dear Rocky,

Thanks for your interest. A journalism degree would enable a person
to work on a daily or other newspaper, write for magazines, do public
relations and perhaps cover news for a larger radio station (although
a few broadcasting classes would help in that case.)

Needed equipment would include something that you could use to take
lots and lots of Braille notes, a good computer with good Internet
service and navigational software, a scanner to read the lots of
print mail you'll get. Also, and this isn't equipment, you'll need a
really good support network to drive to places where buses don't go
and to occasionally accompany you to something that takes visual help
- pricing items in a store, watching people's fashions, checking gas
pumps for gas-price stories, covering parades, etc.

SMall papers usually start you in the low 20s, and that's where a lot
of people start. The major money part would involve perhaps some
out-of-pocket expenses for some of the special needs listed above.

Please do not hesitate to contact me again.

Sincerely,
Cheryl Wade
