[Journalists] Best & Worst Classes When Going for A Journalism Major?

			Hi, listers,

The only classes I found difficult as a totally blind student were
graphics and photography. I actually had the latter waived, although
now I wish I'd audited it and at least learned the principles. Maybe
I could have learned to take really, really good aim and shoot.

I have heard of people using their Optacons to touch graphical
representations. Optivcons didn't come out until after I had finished
high school - or else I couldn't afford one back then. It would be
interesting if we could fashion a tool, such as a map board marked
off in squares, where we could construct tactile page mockups just to
teach totally blind students what stories really look like on the
page. Still, I don't know how people who are tactilly oriented could
really see a layout in a complete and meaningful way.
When I had graphics, I basically had some fellow student do some
drawings for me, and I got an A. I don't really even know what she
drew.
