Position Profile: Washington State Department of Transportation's
(WSDOT) statewide Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office is seeking a
highly knowledgeable expert to administer our statewide Title VI
Program. This involves development and training of WSDOT's Title VI
special emphasis program areas. This position also provides technical
assistance and training to WSDOT managers, cities, counties,
municipalities, contractors and other sub recipients on Title VI
compliance issues, implementation and monitoring.
The successful candidate will:
* Demonstrate experience applying relevant federal, state and
agency civil rights requirements and contract specifications related to
Title VI.
* Have the ability to develop policy recommendations for Title VI
program area.
* Have the ability to investigate complex cases involving
interviewing witnesses, analyzing documents, preparing reports and
determining findings and contract specifications.
* Demonstrate success coordinating and conducting classroom
training and large and small group presentations with diversity/civil
rights topics for adult learners.
* Have highly developed consultation, mediation and problem
solving skills at the executive level on complex negotiation and
contract administration problems and issues.
* Have demonstrated success working with diverse populations.
* Effectively communicate in writing and in-person interaction,
including the use of automated system.
Desired qualifications include:
* Ethical standards of conduct, integrity and honesty.
* Ability to act in the public interest.
* A commitment to the Department's quality, diversity, and public
service values.
