[Jobs] Working From Home

Hi Marshall,

I think training opportunities are a great idea, especially those that
result in jobs, and anyone who knows of a good one should put them on the
list.

And maybe I did respond prematurely. If I did, I apologize. I think,
though, that the problem with discussion strings is that they stray so far
from the original topic that nobody knows for sure what is being discussed.
Maybe we should start a new discussion string if we have a new topic to
discuss.

Dick Davis

Subject: [Jobs] Working From Home

Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. I had a chance to take a
nap which is a feat with a two year old in the house. He sleeps, then my
wife and I get a chance at a nap, and she's expecting, so she needs one more
than I do.

Sorry Dick to keep the thread going, but I wanted to make an observation or
two. First, you mention training. I think it would be a great idea to have
any training opportunities that are available made known to anyone on the
list seeking employment along with the VR departments that everyone is so
familiar. This way, more avenues for training made known can open doors for
folks on the list. I'm not sure how to make a website a link that people
can click and I apologize for that, but please feel free to check out The
School of Piano Technology for the Blind if pianos interest anyone. It is
pianotuningschool.org. I use firefox and hotmail, and I'm not sure how to
make links appear as links or how to enlarge the font if anyone is using
zoom text for example, please accept my apology.

I think your points are great Dick about work at home opportunities. I
think the job listings and offerings are great here, but I think well I'm
certain that there are folks on here that don't have specialized training or
degrees, and I think switching or at least focusing upon training
opportunities as well will also add benefits that will cause employability
among blind folks on here to soar higher than we could ever imagine.

Have a great weekend everyone and don't worry about jobs until Monday, relax
and enjoy your family and friends. :-)
Marshall
