Dear Jennifer,
I would advise you to contact your local transit system and the (MPO) Metro
Planning Organization.
They can either help you use the existing Public Transit system/Para-Transit
services or maybe hook up with a car or van pool. Many areas have a
Commuter services agency and you just need to find it.
Check under State and County Government in directory assistance.
