Why not check with the guide dog schools? They'd know.

Subject: [Jobs] Mobility Instructors As Guide Dog users

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone is aware of the existance of mobility
instructors who use guide dogs as their primary mobility aid (outside of
the job)? Obviously, in order to be granted the oppertunity to train with
and recieve a dogyou need to be able to show that you have decent mobility

skills, and to become a mobility instructor you need to be able to show
rather advanced mobility skills and... yes, teach them as well. also, you
need to teach using a cane as you need to model the skills you teach (if we
are refering to the nOMC instructor).
If there are active Oand M instructors who are guide dog users, how do
they normally go about their job? what problems have they encountered? How
have they (or do they plan to) move past those problems?

any help would be appreciated, as I am considering the possibility of go
into the field of O and M, and while I do not have a guide dog, I am
considering that possibility as well.
  Thanks

    Darian
