	The National Statler Center for Careers in Hospitality Service

	The National Statler Center for Careers in Hospitality Service
prepares people with physical disabilities and/or visual impairments for
exciting careers in the hotel, travel, and customer service business.
Since 1999, more than 250 people have graduated the program and more
than 84% of our graduates have found employment.

	Great news, there are a few seats open for our next class! If
you are looking for nationally recognized training in hospitality
services, and help to win a terrific job in the hotel, travel, tourism,
and customer service industries, Statler training is what you need.

	 

	The Statler Center offers visually impaired and physically
handicapped adults an exciting opportunity for job training and
placement in one of the largest industries worldwide.  

	 

	The Statler Center features:

	*        Specialized instruction in Microsoft Office Suite

	*        Training with state-of-the-art computers and software

	*        Industry-specific training in the student's field of
interest

	*        Hands-on work experience

	*        Job placement assistance

	Newly Hired

	Statler Center graduates have been busy applying and
interviewing for jobs.  We are happy to report they have WON following
positions across the country:

	Whitney was hired as a reservation agent for Starwood Hotels
Worldwide Inc. in Austin TX

	April has accepted a position at the Time-Warner call center in
Charlotte, NC

	Rehan is now a Customer Care Representative at National
Industries for the Blind in Alexandria, VA

	Mary is working at Hilton Hotels as a PBX operator Daytona, FL 

	Sue is working customer service/scheduler at Orville's
distribution center in Cheektowaga, NY

	Karyn was hired by Absolute Care of East Aurora, NY

	 

	CONGRATULATONS to all our newly hired graduates

	 

	2008 Calendar

	Ongoing                    Accepting applications for Statler

	STEP 

	The first pilot class Statler Training and Employment Program in
Telephone Banking Call Center ended this month. And it was very
successful! The next class is scheduled for May 12. If you are
interested in working with Statler as a corporate partner in training,

	Technology Fair coming soon

	Our second Adaptive Technology Showcase will be held on May 8,
2008. 

	We will begin our fair with Registration at 9:30 am, with hourly
seminars beginning at 10 am, 11 am, and 1 pm with a break for lunch from
12 pm until 1 pm. 

	Tentative topics include: 

	 

	Job Searching/Networking, Interviewing Skills & Presenting Your
Disability, Introduction to Statler Hospitality, Introduction to
Adaptive Software and mini-Technology Assessments
