JOB OVERVIEW:
The Director of Stock Yards Sales is a strategic business partner that works
closely the division senior management team, as well as, the Territory
Managers to make key business decisions. Leads the Sales team in designing
and implementing policies and programs that support the overall business
objectives. This position is based in South St. Paul, Minnesota.
Responsibilities include:
* Achieve or exceed annual Operating Plan.
* Recruit, train and assist sales personnel in achieving company
goals by meeting sales plan and gross profit.
* Perform periodic reviews on Territory Managers’ performances.
* Assist and initiate achievements of full commission status as
agreed upon when Territory Manager is hired.
* Ensure that receivables are collected and managed in accordance
with the Credit Policy.
* Rides with Territory Managers on a regular basis to assist in
development and penetration of existing accounts and to prospect for new
accounts.
* Establishes sales goals and monitors achievement regularly.
* Utilizes vendors and Equipment Specialists to train Territory
Managers to maximize account penetration and develop them into experts on
product lines and their uses.
* Conducts regular sales meetings to communicate company objectives,
news and district updates to the sales plans. Utilizes meetings to showcase
new products and support core vendors.
* Acts as an effective communication conduit with other departments.
* Ensures that assigned route and coverage is attained.
Qualifications
* College level coursework preferred.
* Minimum 3 years as a successful Sales Manager.
* Excellent foodservice/restaurant knowledge and selling skills as it
pertains to the foodservice industry.
* Proficiency with laptop and transmitting various reports.
* Minimum 2 years Meat Industry Knowledge.
