Has anyone out there seen the new Kindle book reading device from Jeff
Brazos and Amazon.com? It appears that it would have been the dream answer
for those who are visually impaired if ONLY they had added audio. If you
haven't seen it go to: amazon.com/kindle. Is it possible for the LOC folks
who are working on the next stage of talking books to have gotten with Jeff
Brazos? It seems that they are on the cutting edge. Brazos' device would
allow you do read in bed at night, or on a plane or when stuck in an
airport. None of thethings coming out by the LOC or talking books will allow
that without 13 zillion pieces of hardware which is not always easy to carry
and doesn't always work in certain situations. I am am just amazed at the
leap forward Brazos has taken and I have seen nothing in the adaptive
literature that comes close to this. Kindle is only 10 0z in weight and you
have have as many as 200 or more books on it at a time along with magazines,
newspapers etc. The newspapers on Kindle are complete note just partial
articles or a few articles like with Newsline which I dearly love. Kindle
(save the lacking audio function) makes everything else I know of pale by
comparison. How can this all pass us by without the adpative community being
a part of it????
