With respect to the conference, I am only one of the presenters, and not in
any sort of leadership position, so I would not be a good person to
interview.  

The best person for you to contact and interview is Dan Frye, who is
organizing the conference.  He works at the NFB national office.  His e-mail

I'll make sure he gets a copy of this.

How about working with job developers and what to look for in one? Talk
about networking through support groups and other groups with similar
disabilities where people go and talk about that jobs they have gotten and
how they made contact with employers. How about working with the one stops
like our Texas Workforce Commission   who has navigators who help those with
disabilities find work where others like them have gone. Talk about the
National Business Leadership Network which meets with local business owners
who have already worked with those with disabilities. Talk about other
networking ideas including starting a network of their own with  people with
similar disabilities to work together and cover a broader scope of the
market share for employment of the disability hiring world.  Just some
thoughts. Would you also give me a call so I could talk about having you on
my radio show "Eyes on Employment" where we can promote this conference and
talk about some ideas for the programs? Call me on the cell phone today as I

Oh I wish I could go to that conference.
I hope that you would talk about job searching.
Formats of cover letters, and resumes.
The emotional part of searching for jobs.
How about this topic for discussion, how do you continue with job hunting or
anything of that nature, when you just keep being rejected, or how do you do
this when you are newly blind.
you can really get participation on this topic.
Its so broad.

We never really talked about it when I was a center student at CCb.

Duncan Larsen of the Colorado Center and I are scheduled to do three 1
1/2
hour sessions and I'm scheduled one 30 minute presentation on career
preparation and job placement in a training center.  It will be at the
national training center conference the Federation is holding in early
December. 

Since this list is populated with bright people who know a lot about such
subjects, I wanted to solicit your ideas for both content and structure:

1. What sort of things do you think we should cover in the three
presentations, which will be sequential in nature (in other words, it will
be one 4 1/2 hour presentation broken up over three days)?     

2. How much participant involvement should we have, and do you have any
ideas about how best to get active participation?

3. Are any of you going to the conference, and if so, are you planning to
attend one or more of these sessions?  If you are, I would appreciate
knowing so, and I would really appreciate your involvement in ours.  

I'm a pretty talkative creature, but I can't say that people would love
listening to me for five hours.  It may well be that they'd like to listen
to Duncan for that period of time, as she's always been pretty entertaining.
In any event, got any ideas for us?
