Good morning Cheryl,
I agree with Peter, there is no rreason to mention your dog or your
disability in your cover letter or your resume.
The cover letter is to highlight your skills, experience, and your education
and what you will bring to an employer. The purpose of both the cover letter
and the resume is to get an interview. It should be short and consise.
usually the resume should be one and no more than two pages and the cover
letter no more than one page.
In my experience as an executive director, I teach resume writing for
persons with disabilities, and I also interview them for employment with our
agency. You would not believe some of the things I have been given by
potential employees, as resumes.
Good luck and please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
